Luke 13:24 ( Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in and shall not be able)
This is the Lord’s message to his disciples and all his followers worldwide.
Many people in the world are searching for the way, some have found it but cannot enter due to strict demand.
Many are leading others to the gate but unfortunately, they are not able to enter themselves, while most they led are already in heaven but they missed it.
Many are filled with confusion contemplating whether they should enter, but to please their friends and relatives, they too refuse to enter.
Many looked back like Lot’s wife and missed the day of their visitation, the baggage many carry is too much to enter the gate, they want to enter with the world’s glory which makes it difficult to pass through, for God and the world are at enmity against each other.
Lot was able to come out of Sodom with his children when he dumped all that he acquired without looking back, but his wife was not able because she turned back and became a pillar of salt.
This is a vivid example of coming out of the world into the kingdom of God, You can’t hold onto the things and be able to make it, Everything acquired in the world must be dumped at the feet of Jesus Christ, because no unclean things shall enter.
Men preferred what they can see more than what they can’t see that’s why they chose visible things of the world more than the invisible of the kingdom which eyes have yet to see or ears is yet to hear, the things God prepared for his children.
Not knowing that what is visible is temporal it’s the invisible that is eternal.
It’s by faith we serve God and it’s by faith we surrender our life to him, If you don’t have faith you can’t please Him thereby won’t enter the gate of heaven, It’s only God’s pleaser that will enter the pearly gate.
Narrow gate is not attractive to be desired by men, it’s a path that’s full of ups and downs with imaginary things that are blocking men from accessing it.
It takes a man of boldness and violence to enter the gate.
It’s boldness we need to forsake the world and embrace the kingdom, it’s the violence we need to press forward and not allow anything or anyone else to discourage us.
Gates that some people are mistaken as the narrow didn’t have the characteristics of the narrow gate, until they reach the ends it’s then they’ll discover that they’ve chosen wrong.
Many G.O.s and pastors who desire it don’t meet the criteria, the standard is so high to the extent that it took the righteousness of the Son of God to get there, for we can’t get inside with our righteousness for it’s like a filthy rag before God.
Striving to enter, also means struggling to come in for something and people might want to discourage you, it’s you who will make up your mind to press further to your place of rest.
You choose between Jesus and the world, you make choices between the world’s pleasures and the righteousness of the kingdom, if you make effort to enter but not able, it’s your choice and no one to blame for choosing wrong, it’s only you that will face the repercussions of your wrong choice.
Prayer: since I made my choice to follow you to the end, don’t allow anything or anyone to draw me back in Jesus’ name amen
