What Is His Worth To You – Sermon By Arm of The Lord Christian Ministry

Matthew 26:14,15 ( Then one of the twelve called Judas Iscariot went unto the chief priests, and said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him to you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver)

Judas Iscariot betrayed his master for 30 pieces of silver, which was the worth of Jesus Christ to him. If he could see that kind of amount, he would be able to discard him.

What’s the worth of Jesus to you? Whatever brought you to him is worth more than He is to you, because if the thing is not established, you might discard and forget about him to seek it elsewhere. Even if the things are established, it will be the reason you’re staying with him to protect them.

If Jesus Christ is worth more than your life you will make him your real life and discard your old life at the feet of his Cross.

If you ask many church goers the reason they are committed to the service of God, you will learn one thing or the other, some might say, it’s because I always enjoy his presence or because he is keeping my family safe, or because he is providing for my needs.

Had he refused to provide, or keep their family safe, wouldn’t they still worship him as God?

Maybe if that need is not there, there will be nothing to serve him for, that is why many Christians deviated after gotten answer to their request.

God is God, we must serve for whom He is not because of one thing or the other.

Jesus Christ is more than that, he is more than our requests because if the request expires he still remains as God and lord.

Whatever you love more than Jesus Christ is worth more than him in your sight, no wonder the Bible says, whoever loves mother or father or children or wife more than him is not worthy of him.

You’re not worthy of him if things are standing between him and you, whatever Satan will give you at the expense of denying Christ is what you quantified him to be.

Many Christians are ready to sell Jesus for a toy and something that doesn’t have eternal value, they are ready to deny him because of a man or a woman.

A woman that easily dedicated to church service who went away because the church was against her marrying unbelievers left not because she didn’t love Jesus, but she left because she found something worth more than Jesus to her.

There was a lady whose church pastor said she shouldn’t marry a man because he thought that the man was not genuine.

She left that church to marry the man but in the end, she discovered that what her pastor said was true but it was already too late after three children.

How many Christians have Jesus Christ who is worth more than their life?

How many of us can say categorically that the Jesus that I know is enough even if all things fall away?

If the world removed all that it has given you, would you cope because you have only Jesus?

God tested Abraham to know who is more important whether he or his son. But Abraham shows the supremacy of God over all things that he had by willingly wanting to sacrifice his son to please God.

He proved to God that he loved him more than Isaac even though he got him at his old age.

A Christian must not love the gifts more than the giver, everything will expire one day, it’s only God that will remain till eternity.

Job said, “Though he slew me, I will worship him”.

Whatever you’ve gotten on earth won’t follow you after life all things remain on earth, only God remain forever.

As your soul is worth more than any other thing in the world that made God release his son out of His love for it to redeem it from destruction, so let God be valuable more than your souls or anything in the world that you won’t hesitate to give your souls back to him in exchange for Himself.

Prayer: Father lord, even if I don’t have anything, I will still worship you for your sake, thank you Lord Jesus, in Jesus name.
