Gal 5:17 ( For the flesh lust against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.)
Man was perfect the day he was created until serpent infused his nature into his originality to bring pollution to his nature and become Satan’s captive.
This is what defiled man and brought him to lower level below Satan and his minions: this is the flesh, the nature we received after the fall, which gave Satan permission to influence and manipulate man’s heart against the will of God.
Jesus not only conquered Satan but overcome the flesh by nailing it to His Cross to destroy its power and syphoned serpent poison over everyone that’ll come to Him for help.
He died with the all the sins of men and was buried with it, resurrected into a new life in God: so also our flesh must be buried with Him in baptism and then raised up with Him to begin to seek the things above.
There was a man that was trying to prevent his only child from the pollution of the world that comes from human relationships; he took her to the forest, where no man stayed, believing she would grow up without human influence in her nature.
By the time the child reach certain age, the man went out and find out that something is missing in the house, he asked the girl of its whereabouts, but the girl denied of seeing it, because of fear of what the father will do.
It now dawn on the man that the nature of sin is embedded in man, no matter where he grows, it will surely manifest at the appointed time without outside influence.
Flesh is the ladder Satan is using to enter life and operate, He went to Jesus in the wilderness, but find nothing of his nature in Christ that could give him upper hand against Him.
All the temptations of Jesus Christ needed to do with every doorway of the flesh; the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life; Satan tried if he could find any door to open for him to enter, but he failed woefully.
No matter the battle man might be facing, if he is yet to subdue his flesh, he is far from becoming an overcomer, and will still be under the dominion of the devil.
Many are seeking deliverance here and there; they’re going from one mountain to the other to overcome their enemy but are yet to break free from the stronghold of their flesh, which is holding them captives. Even if the problem is solved, their flesh will put them back in if they fail to subdue it.
God hate flesh with perfection, any area the works of the flesh manifests in Christian service, it will prevent the manifestation of divine presence.
Man looks outside to find his enemy not knowing that the enemy is within attracting the arrow from without to penetrate.
Unless we subdued this terrible one, one will always be subjected to evil arrows without knowing the origin.
Flesh started it’s manifestation in Cain when it came through envy and jealousy to murder his only brother. God warned him that sin was lying at his door and that he should be careful, but it was the flesh that opened the door for it to operate.
Joseph’s mouth brought him against his household wickedness, had he not brag about his dreams, it wouldn’t have stirred up jealousy from his brothers.
There are many ways which flesh manifest that we don’t take cognizant of: someone that bought new clothes because he want to show of in the church on Sunday, even though he doesn’t go to church weekly, the new clothes will preempt him to go to church early on that day, it’s the manifestation of the flesh.
It’s flesh that’s controlling some people behaviour in the church, a man that want to give and still carry microphone to announce, that’s why Jesus taught us the way to overcome flesh in giving, that the left hand must not know what the right hand is doing, that is the way to overcome it and from affecting our reward from God.
Flesh is what makes you tell the whole world that if not for you that prayed for sister Dorcas, she won’t received her breakthrough.
Flesh make us to take the place of God in man’s life even as a Christian, flesh will always want to take the glory for what God does.
Many Christians are yet to overcome it because they’re far from the Cross, they transferred it’s operations into the worship of God, no wonder Christ says, whoever want to worship God must worship in spirit and in truth, those are the ones Father seek to worship him.
Flesh will make us give conditions to God if he doesn’t answer the way we want, flesh will make a leader curse his followers for leaving the congregation, instead of praying for them to prosper wherever they go.
Most of our leaders are full of carnality, they do the work of God with their Adamic nature, even their relationship with God is full of carnality, we announced programs in order to raise funds, we make altar call to showcase how many are saved through our ministrations.
True Life Story
I remember a man that organized a program in America, it seems that no one gave testimony except a woman that was healed from head ache.
This man was very sad and started complaining that, “of all the money and time he spent on the program, no one came outside to testify except this lady” he was expecting testimony of healing of cancer or terrible sickness; but his flesh disappointed him; while he was on his way back home, he started feeling terrible headache, that he wasn’t able to do anything but to shout and cry, telling God to take it away.
He prayed but God refused to answer, later God told him that I healed a woman of headache which you despise because it’s not the terrible sickness you were expecting so you can take the glory, now you’re feeling the same, I will let you experience the pain more before I heal you, so you won’t be ungrateful.
God is not in most of our programs because it’s not him that organised it, it’s done by the flesh, that’s why souls are not being saved, neither are healings and miracles happening, that’s why we are manipulating miracles for God because our activities lack the presence of God.
Paul analyze the works of the flesh in the book of Galatians, including witchcraft and sorcery; this is what is blocking us from the presence of God, it’s standing against our spiritual advancement.
The whole generation were imprisoned inside spiritual grave of the flesh through Adam, this extend to the grave after death, this was brought by the curse of death attached to every work of the flesh, that is why flesh must die for us to live.
It’s the spirit of God that quickens us to make us alive in God, by believing in the power of the resurrection and life which is Christ Jesus, He is the true life that came to bring us back from our spiritual grave to fulfill our destiny in God; whoever dies without experienced Him will die twice.
Jesus has to go to the grave in His death to quicken all those who died in God by giving them His spirit that’ll transfer them to the paradise above.
God must perform this surgical operation by removing the foreskin of the flesh to make us a new creature; we must be born again.
Cross is the key that opened the prison door of the flesh, until we go there and crucify the flesh, it will take us to hell when we die, even if we die in church.
Whoever is born once will die twice, and who is born twice will die once, this is the principle of heaven for all who want to experience the new life in God.
Prayer: My Father and my God, take me to Calvary and let my flesh be buried there, and give me a new nature that will always follow your way in Jesus name.
