Rev 4:10,11 ( The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne saying, thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou art created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created)
Many Christians have misinterpreted the act of worship to be entertainment. Worship is our actions and reverence towards God, where we submit ourselves under his authority and cast our crowns of achievements all before him, like the twenty-four elders who sat around the throne to the exaltations of his name.
While entertainment amused the flesh and empowered it to work against the spirit.
Entertainment has been woven into our worship subtly to accommodate people of the flesh who had no interest in the things related to the worship of the living God.
The moment entertainment enters, definitely the true worship is out. God can’t manifest his presence wherever his name is not glorified and His Word is not honoured.
Gradually, the church has been handed over to the sons of Adam who, in their pleasure, rely on the flesh rather than God’s right hand.
This, in turn, chases the truth from the gathering and permits lies to dominate, where people depend on the lies of their enemy to relate to God.
There is no entertainment in heaven. Twenty-four elders are worshipping God day and night, even though there is nothing like night or darkness in heaven. I mean, they are always worshipping him without rest; their rest is in submission under divine authority, where they lay their crowns before the throne.
Likewise, holy angels and the saints do worship God with their service to him in his presence.
If you’re bored with worship here on earth, I don’t think you’ll become a candidate for heaven, for that’s what they do before whose throne is high and lifted up.
It’s not until you enter church that you’ll worship God, you worship him while submitting under divine authority in whatever you find yourself doing.
You do it in your thoughts by glorifying him in your actions and words, whatever doesn’t edify shouldn’t come from your mouth.
Whatever you do, do it to the glory of God and to the excellence of his majesty.
It’s different from entertainment in all ramifications; entertainment only gratifies the flesh, while worship glorifies God.
Churches nowadays can’t differentiate between worship and entertainment, so they attract the crowd to the church by what amuses them, but it won’t bring conviction into their heart.
It’s through worship that life can change to the glory of God but amusement is to silence the voice of conscience and postpone the evil days till tomorrow.
How do you bring one that is laughing to hell to serve God and turn from his way, if not by bringing the presence of God down and let him manifest his Glory through worship.
Entertainment silences the guilt in man and tries to erase the memory of evil and pushes on till he enters the grave.
It originated from the devil, to put the children of men in spiritual lethargy till they harvested their souls in the end
We need to wake up from our slumber and start worshiping God who reigns forever and let his face begin to shine on us, for God inhabits the praises of his people.
The moment you’re born again your interest is diverted from pleasing the flesh into pleasing God, you’ll want to be among those who reverence him and do according to his Will.
If you’re born again and your social interest is still in the world, maybe you aren’t visiting the Cross, where all entertainment will be disgusting to your spiritual man, and all you want to do is worship daily in his presence, even if heaven and earth should pass away.
To attract a crowd and entertain men, some pastors will hire instrumentalists from the world; most of them dye their hair with braids as men, but we forget that some people used their ten-string instruments to bring the presence of God down to their midst.
Even some instrumentalists are yet to know God, this becomes an unholy alliance between the church and the world, the children of the spirit and the children of Adam, instead of the presence of God to manifest, it’ll be the manifestation of demons; whatever is highly esteemed before men is an abomination before God.
We don’t want our members to go and spend their hard-earned money in hotels, but encourage them to spend it on church entertainment.
We are trying to amuse them by letting them forget their sorrow for a while, which in turn multiplies to afflict them in the future if it isn’t dealt with in the presence of God, or even will lead them to a point of no return.
It’s goat that love to be entertained and consent to amusement, but the sheep love to worship, because it edifies the brethren and exalts God.
When the truth is removed from the worship, it turns to entertainment. Jesus revealed the whole truth to the church, and that is what we must build on for our service to be acceptable before God.
That is what the church is doing today to be able to entertain goats, for it is they that require to be entertained to stay in the congregation.
